Valkyrie is an important part of Marvel's Asgard same as Thor or Loki and has been due her own comic for awhile. Here she finally gets one, even if it is just a one-shot. What writer Bryan Glass does with this issue is give us a complete history of this character while she remembers who she is after being brought back from Ragnarok as shown in Thor: Disassembled. You'd be correct in assuming that this comic starts near the end the end of the first arc of J. Michael Straczynski's run on Thor. It is a story worth reading, especially for a character who's deserved more of a spotlight for awhile. It really gives us her entire character leading to her appearance on the Secret Avengers starting with Ed Brubakers run. The issue looks great too, with art by Phil Winslade. Its solid work, deserving of this character. This was a good comic that really highlights another star of Asgard, and worth checking out. If you want to know where else this character goes after the previously mentioned Secret Avengers, you should try the Fear Itself: The Fearless miniseries.4/5
